Interpol Warns 188 Member Nations Of Increased Terror Threat If Fringe Pastor Burns Korans
Fact that Jones has more people at his press conf. than in his pew on Sunday is illuminating, Gibbs says. Says he’s “desperate” - West Wing Report
How is this guy not considered an American Terrorist?
Burning books isn’t a terrorist act.
I’m with Eric on this one.
As spiteful and repugnant as I find this Jones idiot, when we equate ideas and thoughts with criminal acts and terrorism we are a step closer to a totalitarian state. I maintain that burning a single book, in protest, is protected speech… and should remain so.
Every single hour in this country there are fools such as this who espouse acts infinitely more vile and revolting, and the only reason those acts pose no additional threat to our troops stationed abroad is because the media—wisely—chose to ignore them. The corporate media interests who are making money off of this being the Hyped! Story! Of! The! Week! are to blame for this imbecile’s potential negative effect gaining such massive exposure… without them, he’s just another fucking idiot with a pulpit.
It is the nefarious goal of our corporatocracy to keep us babbling about these losers and zeroes and non-issues in a 24/7 assault on our attention spans while the real criminals and jackals have a free run at obscene profits and abominable practices (and I include in that assessment the obscene profits and abominable practices of organized religion worldwide who absolutely benefit from each having their own “devil” to preach against… it’s all such bullshit).
Hugs, everyone! :)
I agree. If everyone, collectively, just decided not to cover this, then boom. Problem solved.
He would just be any other old man with an ugly mustache.
